Adventure Session

Banff Anniversary Session

Nolan & Kendra celebrated their 5 year anniversary in August. Kendra (my sister) has been hinting at a mountain photo shoot for their 5 year anniversary since about the 6 month mark. So once we saw that hotel prices were super low because of Covid (plus we were itching to get out of the province), we planned a little trip. You can see photos from our holiday here. Kendra was determined not to let her disability stop them from getting epic mountain photos and my knowledge of the area led us to a couple of locations that weren’t far from the parking lot. She is one bad-ass crippled chick and climbing over those rocks had to have hurt but don’t tell her what she can’t do! Enjoy!

Spruce Woods Engagement Session

When Amberley & Myles mentioned that they thought Spruce Woods Provincial Park would be cool for their engagement session, they followed immediately with “but then we realized how far away it is and we figured it’s out of the question”. To which I replied, “Let’s DO IT!!” Anyone who knows me, knows i’m willing to drive a bit to explore a new beautiful place, especially if I’ve got my camera and some beautiful people to photograph there. Not many better ways to spend a beautiful summer evening. Enjoy!

Utah Engagement Session

Sometimes photo shoots don’t go quite as planned and instead of a nice warm desert shoot on the cliff, you get a snowstorm and zero visibility! BUT even though it’s not what we had imagined, it was beautiful and fun and adventurous in it’s own way. Back in March, I had the pleasure of attending the Rooted Workshop in Moab, Utah. It was amazing to get to know a bunch of other female photographers like myself and to explore a brand new place. We collaboratively shot three styled sessions in the desert and while this may have been the coldest one, I thought the snow just added that much more dimension to the photos. Enjoy!

private island Lake engagement session

When you have a cabin on a private island on a beautiful lake, it’s kind of a no-brainer to do your engagement session there. I wanted to stay forever. These two and their pup hopped on paddle boards for a bit and we ended the session with some gorgeous shots that I took from a kayak. Enjoy!

Pinawa Dam Engagement Session

Mark & Gillian asked for suggestions for their location for their engagement session and I immediately suggested a few places FAR from Winnipeg. lol. They were like YES!!! The Old Pinawa Dam was their favourite suggestion so we headed out there and basically just explored and frolicked around on the rocks for an hour. These two were such a blast and I’m really looking forward to their wedding at the end of December!

Interlake Adventure Engagement

We started off with a plan. We loaded the canoe, and headed to the rock quarry that always had this beautiful, clear, blue water and limestone and forest all around. But you should have seen our faces when we showed up the the whole quarry was completely dried up. But Steve and Leah are just the type of couple that can make the most of any situation, so we told the story, and took photos in the dried up quarry. We had some fun with it and then headed out to find some other body of water to use. In the end, this shoot became a favourite. Adventurous, fun and romantic. Just the way I like em’.

Europe Adventure Session

This summer I fulfilled a little dream of mine. I did a session in Europe!! Ok it was my sister and her husband, and they got a pretty good deal (and I spent 10 days with them travelling and sight-seeing), but still. I was so honoured that they were willing to pay part of my trip in order to have me do a session (or 2) overseas.  The photos turned out so beautifully! We did the first set in Paris, at the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. And then we did another set in Scotland, in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and at the Eileen Donan Castle. Fun fact, the photos at the castle were taken at 10pm! The sun sets so late there in the summer and the best part was that there were no other tourists around at that hour. Enjoy!!

Grand Beach Anniversary

This has to be one of my favourite shoots to date. First, shooting barefoot is always nice. Second, that light. And third, these two lovebirds are just so fun to photograph! They really know how to work it for the camera. The key is to have fun… and these two did just that. Happy 5 year anniversary guys!
