I met Jason when he was doing the brick on our house. (I would highly recommend him by the way. He did a fantastic job!) He mentioned to my husband that he was using the money from doing our house to buy the ring! When I heard this I just knew this was my chance to photograph a proposal!! I mentioned it to Jason and he thought it was a great idea! I was even more excited when he told me his plan.
Jason brought her to Hy’s Steakhouse for supper and then for a walk at The Forks. Pretty regular date right? Nope. Joel and I, along with their friends Mike and Jasmine had set up the blanket, guitar and hanging lanterns just off of a pathway. When Jason and Kayla walked by, I said, “Hey do you think you guys could do me a favor? I have a couple coming in like 10 minutes for a photo shoot and I’d love to test the light out before they get here. Could you just sit on this blanket for a minute?” (Like I would ever say that but whatever…she bought it.) So they did and Jason goes, “Does the guy play guitar?” Me, “Yeah he does.” Jason, “Can I play it a bit?” Me, “Sure! Go for it.” Jason then proceeded to play Kayla the song he wrote for her. Once the song was over, he got down on one knee and of course she said yes!
I hope you all enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. This won’t be the last you see of these two on my blog because I’ll be doing their engagement and wedding as well!! Stay tuned!
